Here we are, at the end of another year. Did you think you’d make it this far? Well here is an exercise to end it out and before you start kicking up your heels or going to bed early it fits the bill nicely.
Here is a video of Vickie skipping rope, she had to hustle back to work from her lunch hour so it is not very long but she did a fine job.
Before doing this exercise, check with your health care provider to see if it is advisable for you to do it.
Warming up with the skip rope
If you do not have artificial joints and your balance is good then a quick over all body warm up using a skip rope is the ideal way to do it.
Skipping rope raises your heart rate, increases your breathing, creates a slight sweat and helps develop your coordination at the same time.
In addition, probably the best part of all this is it provides instant feedback if you are not doing it right. It hits your feet, ankles, or head and immediately stops. Therefore, you know you have messed up.
Just keep practicing and soon you will be doing it longer and longer each time you do the overall body warm up with the rope.
