060124 Oath of Office

This memo, from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, clearly states the Armed Forces Constitutional responsibilities in ensuring our way of life continues and our freedoms are protected against all who would try to take them away from us.

This certainly clarifies their position on the unlawful and violent mob who attacked, destroyed portions of our Capital and killed others protecting our Nations Capital, 06 January 2021.

Take particular notice of the following oath every one of us who served in our armed forces vowed to uphold. We, under oath, swore to defend the Constitution.

Now take a closer look at the last

And that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States; and the orders of the officers appointed over me: I respect senior leaders and decision makers and will follow all legal orders.

The Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) specifies that they are required to obey “the lawful orders of his/her superior.” Including the President of the United States if such order or orders are unlawful, they are not required to follow such order or orders.

Destroying our capital buildings and threatening to kill our duly elected representatives are clearly against the law. Regardless of who called these lawbreakers out it was the President of the United States responsibility to call them off. He did not and in fact encouraged their violence.
